As a trade fair construction company with its own manufacturing facility in Hesse, IMA builds exhibition stands for exhibitors at Messe Frankfurt and supports each project from the initial consultation through design and engineering to manufacturing, assembly, dismantling and storage. Depending on the trade fair objective, stand space and intended use, the result is a custom exhibition stand, a flexible modular exhibition stand or a double-deck stand concept.

IMA's manufacturing site in Aßlar is around 73 kilometres from Messe Frankfurt and, depending on traffic, 45 to 60 minutes away. Good connections to the Rhine-Main region support close coordination during project planning and the build-up phase.

FRANKFURT EXHIBITION GROUNDS

Frankfurt hosts numerous leading international trade fairs. The exhibition grounds comprise twelve halls that differ in size, access and technical facilities. The requirements for an exhibition stand depend on the event, the hall, the stand space and the planned structure. An overview of all halls is available in the Messe Frankfurt hall overview.

Approval may be required for double-deck stands, closed ceilings, non-standard stand heights or custom structures, among others. Technical requirements should therefore be factored into the planning at an early stage.

The exhibition grounds are easy to reach by motorway and public transport. Frankfurt Central Station is close by, and the “Frankfurt (Main) Messe” S-Bahn station is located directly at the Torhaus. Frankfurt Airport is connected to the exhibition grounds by road and rail.

The right type of construction is not determined by stand size alone. The deciding factors are the trade fair objective, products, visitor flow, technical requirements, budget and planned use at future events.

Alongside the type of construction, a decision is needed on whether the exhibition stand is rented, purchased or assembled from a mix of rented and permanently owned components. Which option makes economic sense depends on how often the stand is used, how much it needs to be adapted and how it will be reused.

At ISH 2025, IMA built a double-deck brand space for Buderus with a total area of around 2,000 m². Themed areas, digital information surfaces, an event area and lounge zones shaped the extensive trade fair presence.

PROCESS

FROM PLANNING TO ASSEMBLY

A trade fair project in Frankfurt starts with agreeing the trade fair objective, stand space, budget, exhibits and timeframe. On this basis, IMA develops the design and stand concept in line with the technical guidelines of the respective event and exhibition hall.

Once the required approvals are in place, engineering and manufacturing take place at IMA's site in Aßlar. Logistics, assembly and technical installation are scheduled around the specified build-up and dismantling times. After the event, IMA can also handle dismantling, return transport and storage of the exhibition stand on request.
