Service

PLANNING WITH CONFIDENCE

IMA develops and delivers custom exhibition stands for national and international trade fair appearances.

Each exhibition stand is architecturally planned, technically engineered and precisely executed in close coordination with the exhibitor, based on the company’s corporate design and individual requirements – always with a clear focus on quality, feasibility and cost-efficiency.

The coordinated collaboration of all disciplines creates planning reliability and enables exhibition stands with a clear spatial impact, functional structure and technical reliability.

In addition to exhibition projects, IMA also develops solutions for shopfitting and presentation systems for display construction.

Production

IN-HOUSE PRODUCTION

IMA delivers trade fair construction through its own in-house production facilities. Key components are manufactured in dedicated workshops at the company’s site in Aßlar – from wood and metal fabrication through to painting and powder coating.

This depth of production enables central coordination across all project phases while ensuring controlled material and surface quality. At the same time, it provides the foundation for short production lead times and consistently high execution standards. Exhibition stands can therefore be designed for long-term use and planned for multiple trade fair appearances.

Materials such as wood, metal, glass and plastics are used alongside high-quality surface finishes for precise and durable components designed to withstand long-term use.

KEY ADVANTAGES AT A GLANCE

  • Design, engineering and production under one roof
  • Precise CAD engineering with direct transfer into production
  • Surface finishing through in-house powder coating
  • Custom-designed stand architecture
  • Turnkey execution including logistics and storage

Construction methods

STAND CONCEPTS

IMA delivers different types of stand construction in trade fair construction – tailored to the project objectives, budget framework and planned reusability.

Custom Exhibition Stands

In custom exhibition stand construction, each stand architecture is developed specifically for the individual project. Form, spatial structure, materials and construction are planned entirely from scratch without system-related limitations. Custom exhibition stands represent the classic approach in trade fair construction and enable maximum design freedom.

Modular Exhibition Stands

Modular exhibition stands are based on modular framework systems with defined grid dimensions, enabling an efficient and reusable implementation. IMA complements these systems with custom design elements, bespoke components and high-quality surface finishes from its own in-house production.

Special construction

DOUBLE-DECK STAND

For exhibition stands with limited floor space or extra space requirements, IMA delivers two-storey stand solutions in double-deck construction. This approach unlocks additional usable area without expanding the stand footprint.

Planning, statics, approvals and delivery happen in an integrated way and in line with the specific fair regulations.

The result: functional multi-level solutions that bring architecture, safety and use together in a clearly structured construction method.

DELIVERY

TRADE FAIR CONSTRUCTION FROM A SINGLE SOURCE

IMA delivers trade fair construction as a continuously integrated process. From consulting through design and engineering to production — every project phase plugs together and is coordinated centrally.

Assembly, logistics and storage are organised and delivered by IMA as well. Customer-specific trade fair components and graphics are stored individually. This integrated way of working sets clear ownership and gives controlled delivery across every project phase.

Exhibition stands are designed to be used multiple times, adapted flexibly and developed further over the long term. IMA supports projects across their full lifecycle – from concept to storage and reuse.

Delivery can also run as part of a full-service approach

USE CASES

Trade fair construction from in-house production is especially well suited to projects with high demands on technical delivery, brand precision, reusability and long-term use of exhibition stands.

Typical use cases include:

  • Trade fair appearances with architectural ambition
  • Projects with a clear positioning strategy
  • Presentations of complex or explanation-heavy products
  • Recurring trade fair cycles focused on long-term use of stands
  • Companies with a focus on quality and commercial value

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What services are included in exhibition construction?

Exhibition construction services include concept development, design, planning, engineering and implementation of exhibition stands.

Depending on the event, these promotional structures are aimed at trade visitors or end consumers. Exhibition construction includes design, technical planning, manufacturing of components and exhibits, as well as the transport of exhibition materials and on-site assembly and dismantling at the exhibition venue.

After the event, exhibition materials can be stored and reused for future exhibitions.

What is the difference between a modular exhibition stand and a custom exhibition stand?

A modular exhibition stand is based on modular exhibition systems with reusable components. An individual (custom-built) exhibition stand, by contrast, is planned and engineered specifically for each project and allows for freely designed architecture as well as brand-specific spatial solutions.

What are the advantages of a double-deck exhibition stand?

A double-deck exhibition stand expands the usable space of an exhibition stand through an additional level. This creates separate areas for meetings, presentations or hospitality without increasing the stand footprint.

Especially where floor space is limited, a two-storey exhibition stand enables a clear separation between visitor areas and consultation zones.

At the same time, a double-deck stand creates a strong architectural highlight with high long-distance visibility and a clear presence within the exhibition hall. An upper level with controlled access reserved for selected visitors further enhances the exhibition appearance.

As a result, double-deck stands also offer extended sales and visitor engagement opportunities.

What are the advantages of trade fair construction with in-house production?

When planning, engineering and production are handled within the same company, projects can be implemented more efficiently. Coordination processes are shorter, and changes can be integrated more easily during the project phase.
